Saved by the Trickster
By Shona Husk

Synopsis:
In a world of cold and Darkness, Lysanna is Trickster, a demi-god charged with making people believe in Light and hope. She travels the world creating magic and wonder, taking human assistants to help on stage and warm her bed. Somehow they always betray her, and they always leave.

Zander is a fallen Celestial warrior. Cast out of heaven, he has been given one month to earn his way back. When he meets Lysanna he knows what she is. What he doesn’t expect is to discover the pleasures of being human and the burning lust he finds in the Trickster’s bed. Returning to heaven begins to lose its appeal, but he has a duty to fight the Darkness and he can’t let it consume the world. He may have to choose between duty and Lysanna.

Viviana's Review:
I’ve read Shona’s Shadowland series which I really like, so I was excited to have received a copy of “Saved by the Trickster” to review.  “Saved by the Trickster” is published by Ellora’s Cave (Erotica Publisher) and falls within their “Romantica” Imprint & “Twilight” Line. Books within the “Romantica” are a “special blend of erotic romance, featuring a central love story, a happy ending and lots of hot sex described in graphic detail, using the kind of language regular people use, rather than flowery euphemisms.”  “Twilight” is their “Vamps, ghosts, shifters and other paranormal lovers” line.
The reason why I included the description of the genre above because some may have the misconception that erotica does not contain a story or that the sex drives the story.  That’s not the case here or in many other stories within the erotic genre.

“Saved by the Trickster” is an interesting story involving Greek Mythology with their demi-gods, fallen Celestial warriors and the never ending battle between good and evil, or in this case the Light and Darkness. Lysanna is strong, knows what she wants and her purpose in life. She’s lonely though. Every man in her life has left or betrayed her. Zander is a warrior who has fallen from grace and must redeem himself. Can they each be what the other needs? Trust must be earned but when temptation lies so near will they be able to resist?

This is an erotica so the steamy level was up there but again remember with what I began this review with.  The sex scenes blend well with the story, they fit. They are not used as fillers for lack of story.

Overall a great read.

Note: I was provided an e-copy of "Saved by the Trickster" by the author for an honest review.

 Rating: 2.5 Stars - I liked it!
